Lake Concordia

Friends of Lake Concordia is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation dedicated to preserving and protecting Lake Concordia and its tributaries in Louisiana. Founded in April 2024 and recognized by the IRS in May 2024, the organization works to prevent indiscriminate waste, safeguard wetlands and aquatic habitats, and support public recreation and environmental education. Its projects include a Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries biological study, water-level gauge fundraising with the Lake Advisory Committee, work related to the weir and drainage, tributary cleanups, and education about lake access, safety, ecological practices, and the Mississippi Flyway.

The organization welcomes donations and offers Lake Concordia-themed merchandise through its online shop. Products include can coolers, pocket T-shirts, round stickers, totes, and sun-protective apparel, including long-sleeve sun shirts and hoodies rated UPF 50+. Friends of Lake Concordia also shares local weather information for the Lake Concordia area and invites people to join its email list for news. Based in Vidalia, Louisiana, it encourages community participation through volunteering, giving, and learning about the lake.
