Lake Oconee Youth Alliance

Lake Oconee Youth Alliance (LOYA) is a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) organization supporting young people in Greene and Putnam Counties, Georgia. Founded in 2010, LOYA works to help local students pursue post-secondary education and career pathways through mentoring, college guidance, scholarships, and practical assistance. Its programs include college scholarships, college assistance, college mentorship, and support for high school students preparing for college and careers.

LOYA collaborates with high school guidance counselors and community leaders to help students navigate college entry and address needs that can affect their success. Since its founding, the organization has served more than 500 students, and since 2018 it has awarded 83 students four-year college scholarships. LOYA also shares the achievements of its graduates, who have attended state universities.

The organization says that all donations fund scholarship and assistance packages. Community members can support its work by donating, volunteering, or becoming mentors, helping more students take steps toward their educational goals
