The Baraga County Lake Trout Festival is an annual community celebration held at L’Anse Waterfront Park on the shores of Keweenaw Bay in Michigan. The festival brings residents and visitors together for an afternoon of family-friendly activities, with most events offered free of charge. Its program includes an arts and crafts fair and the Stop, Drop and Run 5K, alongside other scheduled activities. The festival also welcomes arts and crafts sellers, food vendors, and local nonprofit organizations, and invites community members to contribute as volunteers, donors, or activity organizers.
The event takes place alongside the Keweenaw Bay Classic Fishing Tournament, a separate competition organized by the Baraga County Next Gen Team. The tournament features lake trout and salmon fishing, with cash and merchandise prizes. In the lead-up to festival day, countywide yard sales offer another way to explore local communities and find bargains. The festival shares event schedules and vendor information online, and encourages visitors to discover more of Baraga County throughout the year.
