About La Maraña
La Maraña is a non-profit organization based in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Since 2014, they have been dedicated to promoting the just transition of communities to more livable, participatory, and sustainable environments. Their mission is to facilitate the involvement of communities in the decision-making, design, and creation processes of the spaces they inhabit.
La Maraña works towards food sovereignty by implementing participatory design methods to address the pressing challenges faced by Puerto Rico. They believe in the power of community-driven initiatives and aim to empower local residents in shaping their own future.
Through their various initiatives, La Maraña contributes towards creating a more equitable and resilient society. They actively engage with the community to foster a sense of ownership and agency over the development and resources of Puerto Rico.
