La Ferme des lamas is an operating llama farm in Saleix, near Auzat, in the Vicdessos Valley of the French Pyrenees. At an altitude of 900 metres, Laurence and Eduardo welcome visitors to discover their work, their animals and the mountain environment. The farm raises around thirty llamas across approximately forty hectares, breeding, selecting and training them for activities including trekking, carrying loads and land clearing.

Visitors can book guided visits among the herd, walks and hikes with llamas, children’s activities and group visits. The farm also offers llamas for sale and shares information about their care and uses. Its farm products include llama and alpaca wool, knitting yarn and woollen goods, as well as apple juice made from traditional orchard varieties and aromatic plants for cooking and herbal infusions. The owners describe their approach as rooted in a longstanding connection to llama farming between Bolivia and the Pyrenees. They also participate in the Qualité Outdoor Ariège Pyrénées quality initiative for outdoor tourism providers.
