Lammert Haanstra

Lammert Haanstra is a Dutch equestrian training and instruction business led by renowned longeing specialist Lammert Haanstra. With more than 50 years of experience across equestrian disciplines, he helps riders and horse owners improve how they train and work with their horses. His approach emphasizes safe, effective longeing that encourages a horse to move forward through the neck and over the back without forcing a particular posture, supporting strength and helping reduce the risk of injury.

The business offers an online course, “Longeing to a Well-Moving Horse,” which teaches the principles and practice of longeing. Other services include general longeing instruction, clinics combining longeing, riding, seat lessons or rider fitness, and tailored arrangements in Lippenhuizen for lessons in longeing, dressage and driving. Haanstra also provides instruction days at clients’ own facilities, as well as rider analyses and seat lessons using longeing to support effective observation. Longeing ropes with instructions can be ordered in quantities of ten or more; books and e-books are available through retailers.
