About Lancashire Wildlife Trust
Lancashire Wildlife Trust is a leading conservation brand dedicated to protecting and enhancing the natural environment in Lancashire, Manchester, and North Merseyside. Founded in 1962 as The Lancashire Naturalists' Trust, we have grown to become the largest nature conservation body in the region. With over 50 Nature Reserves and Local Wildlife Sites covering 1,288 hectares, we provide havens for rare and threatened species and habitats.
We work tirelessly to protect wildlife across the North West through initiatives such as peatland restoration, species reintroduction, forestry projects, and marine protection. But our work goes beyond conservation. We also focus on connecting people with nature, providing education and learning opportunities for children and adults alike.
Our eco buildings, including the recent addition of the Brockholes floating visitor centre, demonstrate how we can live in harmony with the environment. As a charity, we rely on the support of our 28,000 members and 1,200 regular volunteers to continue our vital work. Join us in our mission to create a region rich in wildlife by becoming a member, donating, or volunteering.
Together, we can make a difference
