Långåfisket

Långåfisket is the name for the sport fishing offered by Långå Fisheries Management Area Association in Härjedalen, Sweden. Managed by local fishing-rights owners, the area combines a long fishing tradition with the care and sustainable development of its natural resources. Anglers can fish for trout, Arctic char, grayling and whitefish, as well as pike and perch, across a varied landscape of lakes, ponds, pools and rivers. The area includes around 50 lakes and other still waters, 45 kilometres of flowing water, and restored stretches of the Långåljusnan River. Fishing is available throughout the year, with accessible waters and a dedicated trout pond for children.

The association sells fishing permits through local outlets and online, and provides maps, current regulations, practical advice and information about fishing waters. Facilities and visitor services include boats, shelters, rest areas and nearby accommodation. Revenue from permits supports fishery improvements, habitat restoration and visitor services, helping preserve the quality of the fishing experience. Långåfisket also shares local updates, safety guidance and information about its conservation work.
