Langa Scorpions

Langa Scorpions Adaptive Sports and Development is a community-focused organization based in Langa, Cape Town, empowering young persons with disabilities through sport, practical skills, and social connection. Its current program centers on wheelchair basketball for athletes aged 16 to 35, with structured weekly practices, competitive matches, and mentorship. The organization provides sports wheelchairs and equipment, alongside free coaching from experienced adaptive-sport coaches. Life-skills workshops and mentorship help participants build confidence beyond the court, while the program offers a pathway to provincial and national competition.

Langa Scorpions shares athlete stories and invites community members to register athletes, volunteer, coach, donate, or partner with the organization. Contributions support needs including sports energy drinks, team apparel, wheelchairs and other equipment, and transport to practices and matches. By combining adaptive sport with life-skills development and community involvement, Langa Scorpions aims to help young people participate, grow, and belong.
