About Lanka Plus
Lanka Plus, established in 1997 by the late Dr. Deshamanya Kamalika Abeyrathna, is a pioneering non-profit organization in Sri Lanka dedicated to supporting People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLHIVs). Committed to the welfare of its members, Lanka Plus offers a range of free services including care and support, counseling, family and hospital visits, self-employment support, financial aid for children, access to ART medications, and a welcoming drop-in center.
Through partnerships with national, civil society, regional, and international organizations, Lanka Plus implements various projects and services, contributing to national health policy. Additionally, the organization plays a pivotal role in combating HIV-related stigma and increasing public awareness about the virus. Engaging in positive speaking initiatives, PLHIVs share their stories to educate and empower the community.
