About Lanterna Mágica Festival
**Lanterna Mágica**
Lanterna Mágica is a premier animation festival dedicated to showcasing both Brazilian and global animated works, located in the heart of Brazil. Since its inception in 2017, the festival has been a vibrant platform for filmmakers and animators, orchestrated by Camila Nunes in collaboration with the Goianian production company, Baloo Filmes.
The festival’s programming revolves around three main pillars: the first is a comprehensive exhibition that features competitive and non-competitive screenings of animated films. The second, the Lanterna Film Market, offers case studies, lectures, and discussions, thereby fostering connections among producers, distributors, and animators. Thirdly, Lanterna Educa focuses on educational exhibitions targeted at public schools, alongside training initiatives including workshops and panel debates.
An added highlight is the Hospital de Projetos Animados, the only laboratory dedicated exclusively to animation projects. Through meticulous curation, the festival spotlights outstanding films, enhancing Brazil's presence in the global animation landscape while elevating the local artistic scene.
