L'appart à moi

L'appart à moi is a dedicated support organization located in Saint-Hubert, Quebec, focused on empowering young adults with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities. Designed as a unique living space, it provides nine individual studios where residents can cultivate independence while sharing communal areas for meals and activities. The Initiative aims to combat poverty and vulnerability in this demographic by offering a nurturing environment that promotes a gradual transition towards life autonomy.

To ensure the longevity of the project, L'appart à moi actively seeks funding through benefit shows, community events, and various fundraising campaigns. The team comprises trained professionals, including a coordinator, a resident monitor, a kitchen aide, and weekend support staff, who collectively create a safe and supportive atmosphere for the residents. With a vision to enhance the quality of life for its tenants, L'appart à moi not only provides shelter but also fosters essential life skills and community integration for its young adults.
