About Barbara Dauwe
Barbara Dauwe is the visionary force behind the unique brand, Galerie d'Art au Sablon Barbara Dauwe et Jean Vinclair. Established in 2003, the brand's philosophy centers around transmitting art in all its diverse forms to promote peace, dialogue, and the transmission of culture. With a mission to inspire hope, reveal beauty, and pave the way for the future, the brand has expanded its horizons over the years.
In 2016, they ventured into the publishing world, focusing on philosophy and the art of living. In 2017, a collaboration with Jean Vinclair brought together the realms of tango, painting, and sculpture in a seamless merger. The brand's latest endeavors include the development of an e-Gallery in 2020 and the inception of the Kintsugi project in 2019, which encompasses exhibitions, workshops, and conferences.
A significant milestone was achieved in 2021 when the brand partnered with the municipality of Waterloo for the Nagakute event. Looking ahead, in 2022, Galerie d'Art au Sablon Barbara Dauwe et Jean Vinclair will host a grand exhibition titled The Fabulous History of Kintsugi, featuring renowned artist Showzi Tsukamoto. Barbara Dauwe, the driving force behind this remarkable brand, is an actress, author, storyteller, and visual artist.
Her love for life and fascination with art, which unveils the deepest parts of ourselves, fuel her creative journey. From her early days at the Brussels Conservatory to exploring street performances, puppets, and theater for young audiences, Dauwe's path led her to perceive philosophy as a religion, giving rise to her publishing house. Barbara Dauwe and Galerie d'Art au Sablon Barbara Dauwe et Jean Vinclair invite you to explore their world of art and culture, where boundaries are dissolved, fears are overcome, and new possibilities emerge.
