Largo Historical Society

The Largo Area Historical Society is a community organization dedicated to preserving Largo, Florida’s past and sharing it with future generations. Based in Largo’s historic Feed Store and Museum at Largo Central Park, the Society connects residents and visitors with the people, places, and stories that shaped the area. Its work includes maintaining historic displays, documenting local history, and presenting information about Largo’s settlement, landmarks, and community life.

The Society welcomes the public to monthly open houses, held on the first Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., except in July and August. Regular meetings take place on the second Monday of each month, also pausing during those summer months. Visitors can explore exhibits, meet local history enthusiasts, and learn about Largo’s heritage. The organization also publishes local-history articles and promotes books by area writers through its shop. Community members can support its mission by joining, donating funds or historical items, volunteering at events, serving on committees, or submitting news and events.
