Lar S. Martinho is a residential care home in Igreja Nova do Sobral, in the municipality of Ferreira do Zêzere, Santarém District, Portugal. Conceived by José Martinho da Conceição Alves, the project took shape from 1989, with the first stone laid in 1991, and opened on 15 November 2009. The home aims to support residents’ wellbeing, making personal care and affection priorities while combining professional service with a family atmosphere.

Lar S. Martinho provides services intended to respond to each older person’s individual circumstances, delivered by a multidisciplinary team of qualified professionals. Its facilities include spaces designed to encourage social interaction and support residents’ physical and emotional wellbeing. The home also offers activities focused on health, skills and leisure, including physical exercise classes for older adults, introductory computer lessons, fine motor exercises, and a range of recreational and social activities.
