Saint-Simon is a festive October event held in Saint-Briac-sur-Mer on France’s Emerald Coast. Its programme brings together arts and crafts, regional food, exhibitions, talks and family activities, creating a lively local gathering for residents and visitors. The festival’s 34th edition in 2026 explores the hidden ocean landscapes along the Route du Rhum, with perspectives from marine ecology and geology.
A conference featuring marine ecologist Éric Feunteun and geologist Bruno Caline introduces visitors to the sea’s wildlife, plant life and geological features. The accompanying exhibition takes visitors on an imagined journey from Saint-Malo to Pointe-à-Pitre, using underwater photography, models, specimens and documents to reveal the Atlantic’s depths. The street-based arts and flavours fair showcases selected exhibitors, while the weekend programme includes sea-song performances, Caribbean music and children’s games organised with the Ludick association.
Food offerings highlight local and Caribbean traditions, including crêpes, galettes, hot dishes and roasted chestnuts. Saint-Simon combines learning, craftsmanship and convivial entertainment for audiences of all ages
