Lastenkoti Lumme

Lastenkoti Lumme is a seven-place residential child-care home in the Lamminpää district of Tampere, Finland. It supports children and young people aged 7–17 who experience social or psychological difficulties, providing a safe, homelike setting where they can grow, recover and develop. Residents may stay until they reach adulthood, and longer by separate agreement.

The home is located in a spacious detached house with bright, roomy interiors and a large yard for activities. Its care approach combines open communication, clear routines and supportive adult guidance to help create a stable everyday life. Staff encourage daily living skills and school attendance, while helping each child take responsibility at a level suited to their abilities.

Every resident receives an individual care and upbringing plan, reviewed at least three times a year, and is supported by a dedicated pair of personal instructors. The small team works to know each child and their circumstances, with experienced social and health-care professionals providing care.
