Lasting Impressions Gallery was a fine-art gallery established in 1986 by Kaye and Neil Cathro in Kenilworth, a Sunshine Coast hinterland township in Queensland, Australia. From 2000, director Kaye Cathro continued the gallery’s work of presenting established and emerging Australian artists. After operating for around 30 years, the gallery closed, and its archived website now offers a nostalgic record of its exhibitions and activities.
Housed in an early traditional Queensland-style building, the gallery featured three intimate exhibition spaces, including one with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking a rainforest courtyard. Its program included solo and group exhibitions by local and interstate artists, with a commitment to quality and contemporary Australian art. The gallery represented internationally acclaimed wildlife artist Greg Postle and showcased artists such as Ken Gailer and master glass artist Brian Hirst. Alongside paintings, visitors could view and acquire selected works in glass, ceramics and wood created by artists from around Australia. Exhibitions explored a range of styles and materials, from patterned landscape paintings to hand-blown glass combined with precious metals.
