About Latino Conservation Week
Latino Conservation Week: Disfrutando y Conservando Nuestra Tierra is a vital initiative of the Hispanic Access Foundation, dedicated to engaging the Latino community in outdoor activities and conservation efforts. Launched in 2014, this annual event has seen remarkable growth, expanding from just 9 events in its inaugural year to over 300 nationwide by 2023. The initiative fosters a wide array of activities, including hiking, camping, community discussion forums, and film screenings, all designed to promote environmental stewardship among Latinos.
Through these events, Latino Conservation Week not only encourages outdoor exploration but also amplifies the Latino voice in conservation, receiving recognition from community leaders and media outlets in both English and Spanish. The program highlights the passion and commitment of the Latino community towards safeguarding natural resources and unites organizations across the country in a collaborative effort. By participating in Latino Conservation Week, you contribute to the vital mission of protecting our land, water, and air for future generations.
