Laukhard Gesellschaft

The Friedrich Christian Laukhard Society is a nonprofit association founded in 2002 and based in Wendelsheim, Rheinhessen. It brings together people interested in the life and work of Friedrich Christian Laukhard, an author whose ideas and critical spirit the Society seeks to preserve and connect with present-day concerns. Its work explores Laukhard and his era through literature, philosophy, politics, education, and theology, while examining the relevance of his perspectives today.

The Society supports research into Laukhard’s life and writing and shares its findings through a public online forum featuring discussions, interviews, lectures, and publications. Its website also offers historical and biographical resources, including timelines and material on the French Revolution, the Mainz Republic, and Laukhard’s relationship to Goethe and Schiller. Through its “Learning and Understanding” section, the Society promotes education and independent, informed thinking. It also organizes events such as readings with music and provides book recommendations. Visitors can explore its event calendar, learn about membership, and engage with the Society’s cultural and educational activities.
