Laura Avila

Laura Avila is a Norwegian autism advocate, speaker, podcaster and author whose work promotes inclusion, diversity and equal opportunities for people with disabilities, diagnoses and experiences of exclusion. Diagnosed with autism at 16, she draws on her personal experiences to encourage greater understanding and to highlight both the challenges and strengths associated with living with autism. She received Norway’s National Spiss Prize in 2024 for her work on autism awareness.

Through her website, Laura shares information about her public speaking, events, books and media appearances. Her personal talk, “Living with Autism,” is presented across Norway and explores life with an autism diagnosis from her own perspective. She also hosts the podcast Laura Avila’s Verden and is preparing her debut book, which reflects on her life and experiences. A political science graduate currently studying to become a librarian, Laura is deputy chair of the Autism Association in Akershus and a member of the Centre Party.
