WSV Lauwerszee is a Dutch watersports association founded on 26 May 1966 and approved by Royal Decree. It brings together active water enthusiasts who care about nature and the surrounding region, with sailing in fresh, salt and brackish waters central to its community. Members and visitors meet at Jachthaven Noordergat and the association’s clubhouse, Het Roode Hooft, which opens when its flags are flying.
The club is a gathering point for people who enjoy boating on Lauwersmeer, exploring the Wadden Sea and the Wadden Islands, or taking longer trips to Germany and Scandinavia. WSV Lauwerszee also encourages members to share knowledge and information, supporting the camaraderie of the association. Its website provides information about membership, the sailing area, events, committees, club facilities, and photos and videos.
The association hosts activities throughout the year, including a jubilee celebration announced for 19 and 20 September 2026. WSV Lauwerszee is a member of the Royal Netherlands Watersport Association
