LavaForge is a dynamic self-hosted software forge designed for developers seeking a simple and efficient development environment. Built on the Forgejo platform, LavaForge offers lightweight, easily installed solutions that require minimal maintenance. It provides free, independent Git hosting, continuous integration (CI), and static site hosting, presenting a viable alternative to established platforms like GitHub and GitLab.

LavaForge is community-driven, ensuring that decisions are made collectively to support free and open-source projects. Operated by a cooperative of volunteers and funded entirely by donations, it operates without venture capital or advertisements, focusing purely on code. This commitment to community values allows developers to create, collaborate, and share their projects in an open environment. Importantly, LavaForge emphasizes user privacy and control, rejecting the use of artificial intelligence for monetization or data mining. Instead, it fosters a culture of transparency and trust, ensuring that your code remains in your hands while receiving support from real people in a collaborative setting.
