About Lava Show
Lava Show is a unique brand that offers a one-of-a-kind experience of witnessing a volcanic eruption by superheating real lava to 1100°C (2000°F) and pouring it into a showroom. The lava, originating from the 1918 Katla eruption, is transformed into exquisite volcanic glass during the show. The startup was ignited by the founders' fascination with a lavafall during the Fimmvörðuháls eruption in 2010 and their determination to create a safe space for people to experience flowing lava up close.
Despite challenges, the world's first and only live LAVA SHOW premiered in Vík in 2018, followed by Reykjavík in 2022. The founders' journey, inspired by their sons' resilience in the face of autism, culminated in the realization of their dream. Lava Show also offers home-made lava products available in their lava-inspired gift shop, all crafted from the century-old lava sourced from the Katla volcano.
