The network crosses coastal areas, the Marais Poitevin, marshland, forests and bocage countryside, with options suited to different interests and abilities, from sporty cyclists to families and recreational riders.

The Vendée Vélo website helps visitors choose a circuit and prepare for a ride, with practical advice on safe cycling, route signage, types of paths and responsible conduct. Its guide features 79 cycling itineraries and 29 loops across the department. The site also shares information about the “Accueil Vélo” welcome label, travelling to Vendée by train, and major national cycling routes. Visitors can learn about the department’s cycling policy and explore regional cycling events, including the Tour de France and the French road cycling championships.
