About Layton Fruit Market
Layton Fruit Market is a family-owned business with a rich history in the produce industry. The Proite family has been involved in the business since the early 1900s when Salvatore Proite sold fruit and vegetables from his horse-drawn wagon. His sons, Joe Sr.
and Tony, followed in his footsteps and established their own store, The New Deal, in Milwaukee. Continuing the family tradition, Joe Proite Jr. opened Layton Fruit Market in 1980, initially as an open-air market operating only in the summer months.
Over time, the market expanded and now offers a variety of products and services. In addition to delicious produce, they have a refrigerated deli section, a great selection of seafood, a catering department, and groceries. Joe's wife, Andrea, and three of their children also contribute to providing customers with a wonderful experience when they visit the store.
