Lighthouse Center for Vital Living

Lighthouse Center for Vital Living supports older adults and people with disabilities in Northern Minnesota and Northwestern Wisconsin, helping them build skills and access resources to live more independently. Its services address vision loss, daily living, mobility, and the use of technology. Vision rehabilitation includes adjustment-to-blindness training, while occupational therapy and independent living services help clients develop practical abilities for everyday life. The center also offers school orientation and mobility services and a Youth Transition Program, with school-year programming and summer camps.

Through Lighthouse Technology Services, clients can explore assistive technology, receive technology support, and use a device lending library to learn about equipment that may meet their needs. Additional supports include peer mentoring, resources for families and caregivers, and a telephone-based Vision Loss Support Group held monthly. Lighthouse shares educational materials and local, state, and national resources related to vision loss and aging, and provides training for aging professionals.
