Joint Municipal Water and Sewer Commission (JMWSC) provides water and wastewater services to communities throughout Lexington County, South Carolina, and reports more than 30 years of service. Its systems serve over 22,700 water customers and 8,300 sewer customers, supported by extensive networks of water and sewer lines, pump stations, tanks, hydrants, and related infrastructure.
The Commission’s services include drinking water delivery, wastewater collection, water quality monitoring, and infrastructure planning and maintenance. Customers can apply for service, pay bills, review rates and payment terms, seek billing assistance, and access forms and account support. JMWSC also publishes water quality reports and provides educational resources, safety guidance, and information about cross-connection control, drinking water monitoring, fats, oils and grease, and hydrant use.
For developers, the Commission offers development guidelines, design standards, system maps, and a project portal. Its ongoing and completed projects include water main extensions and replacements, storage and booster pump station work, sewer improvements, and lift station upgrades. JMWSC also shares news, meeting information, project updates, and customer notices.
