About SDJF
Sri Lanka Development Journalist Forum (SDJF) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to fostering a vibrant democracy and reducing voice poverty for excluded and marginalized communities in Sri Lanka. SDJF, registered as Lanka Development Journalist Forum, has been in operation since 2009 and is recognized as a national-level organization. With a dedicated staff and over 500 trained volunteers, including young journalists and civil society members, SDJF is committed to promoting freedom of expression, information rights, and diversity.
They offer various programs and initiatives to achieve these goals, such as MediaCorps, InSPIRE for Information Rights and Freedom of Expression, Forum Theatre for Tolerance and Respect, and Mobile Journalism for Inclusivity. SDJF also provides resources like publications, annual reports, and newsletters to inform and empower individuals. Through their advocacy for democracy and pluralism, media and communication research, community media for inclusive development, and training and capacity building, SDJF strives to create a more inclusive and equitable society in Sri Lanka.
