Leaftime is a scientific consulting practice focused on natural climate solutions projects. Owned by Stephen Klosterman, the business combines satellite remote sensing, machine learning, and expertise in carbon methodologies to support project development and monitoring. Its services include pre-feasibility assessments, feasibility analysis, project description document writing, and digital monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV).

Leaftime has experience with Verra methodologies VM0047 for afforestation, reforestation, and revegetation (ARR) and VM0048 for reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD), as well as Plan Vivo PM001 and the Gold Standard A/R Methodology. Its featured work includes high-resolution biomass mapping for a protected area in Southeast Asia and analysis of fire return intervals to assess natural risk for a carbon project in Africa.

Stephen Klosterman holds a PhD in Organismic and Evolutionary Biology from Harvard University and has published research on remote sensing, plant phenology, and the forest carbon cycle. His background also includes roles in natural climate solutions, healthcare, and fintech.
