Leagues

Leagues by PlayCV is a community sports program in Castro Valley that gives children opportunities to enjoy sports and engaging activities beyond the traditional school setting. Open to young people from any school or community, the league aims to make participation welcoming, inclusive, and accessible. Its programs combine sports instruction and play with an emphasis on teamwork, fair play, respect, and personal growth.

Current offerings include volleyball and badminton for students in grades 3–8. Volleyball sessions build fundamentals such as serving, passing, setting, and footwork, alongside drills, scrimmages, and games. Badminton introduces participants to a fast-paced, accessible racket sport. Ultimate Frisbee for grades 4–8 is listed as coming soon, with a focus on teamwork and strategy.

PlayCV staff members from the community coach the programs, supporting skill development and life skills in a mentor-based environment. The league also highlights leadership, confidence, and integrity, aiming to create a positive experience for young athletes on and off the field. Families can register online and ask about fees and possible scholarships.
