LE AMICHE DI MAFALDA

Le Amiche di Mafalda is a women-led association based in Pomarance, serving the Alta Val di Cecina area and working to prevent violence against women. It offers a confidential listening service and a safe, private space where women can speak with a qualified operator, discuss their experiences, and explore ways to leave situations of violence. Following an initial meeting, women can access free legal advice from a lawyer and free support from the association’s psychotherapist.

Its work also includes practical and community projects that encourage connection, creativity, and independence. These range from a supported home for women and their children rebuilding their lives after violence to social catering designed to help participants develop professional skills and autonomy. The association also runs sewing and craft initiatives, shared reading groups focused on feminist writing, and playful reading workshops for children that pay attention to gender stereotypes. Le Amiche di Mafalda welcomes community participation and donations to support its services and local initiatives. Its listening line is 389 468 9206.
