Leeward Kenpo

Leeward Kenpo Karate Association is a Hawai‘i martial arts organization established in 1981, with a focus on Kenpo and Kajukenbo training. Its programs emphasize practical self-defense alongside the development of confidence, respect, humility, courtesy, self-control, and personal integrity. The association’s website features information about branch activities, including the Leeward Kenpo Town Branch and a Mililani branch, as well as the Honolulu Sparring Club.

Training opportunities have included self-defense instruction, sparring, and martial arts fitness, with classes promoted for people interested in building skills and confidence. Leeward Kenpo also organizes the annual Hawai‘i Kenpo Karate Championships, a longstanding event honoring Senior Grand Master Edmund W. Louis and bringing the martial arts community together in competition.

The website shares class announcements, special training offers, tournament updates, and material about the association’s Kajukenbo family tree and practitioners. Through instruction, community events, and sparring activities, Leeward Kenpo Karate presents martial arts as both a practical discipline and a path toward personal growth
