Legacy Boxing

Legacy Boxing & Combat Sports Academy is a State College, Pennsylvania gym serving adults, teens, and children near Penn State. Led by USA Boxing certified coaches, it offers structured, beginner-friendly training for people seeking fitness, practical skills, or competitive development. The academy is home to State College’s only USA Boxing Local Boxing Club.

Programs include boxing, women’s boxing, youth boxing for ages 8 to 16, and integrated mixed martial arts training. Classes and instruction cover kickboxing, Muay Thai, wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, and submission grappling, helping students develop striking and grappling skills. Sparring is not required in boxing and is introduced only when students are ready. Private coaching, group sessions, facility rentals, and drop-in options are also available, alongside monthly memberships. Coach Derek Roth brings decades of martial arts and boxing experience and leads the academy’s programs. With a focus on safety, discipline, and steady progress, Legacy welcomes beginners as well as experienced athletes. New students can try their first class free.
