Rifugio Cascine Rossi is managed by the Casale Monferrato section of the Italian National League for the Defence of Dogs, an association established in 2005. Based in Casale Monferrato, Italy, it welcomes dogs that have been abandoned or can no longer remain with their families, providing food, regular veterinary checks, vaccinations and treatment when needed. Staff and volunteers care for the animals while helping them find suitable permanent homes.

The refuge supports prospective adopters with guidance to match each dog’s needs and characteristics to a household’s lifestyle. People can also support an animal through a distance adoption, with a monthly contribution toward food and care, or choose a solidarity gift or make a donation. The association organizes events and welcomes visitors to meet the dogs.

Alongside Rifugio Cascine Rossi, the section manages Baulandia, an intermunicipal shelter that rescues abandoned or mistreated dogs in its partner communities, and Ca’ di Gat, a sanitary cat shelter opened in 2025. Its work is sustained by volunteers, donors, local businesses and veterinary professionals.
