The Legal Writing Institute (LWI) is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to improving legal communication, building the discipline of legal writing, and enhancing the status of legal writing faculty across the country. Founded in 1985, LWI has been a driving force in the field of legal writing for over 35 years. With over 1,700 members from ABA-accredited law schools, undergraduate schools and universities, the practicing bar, the judiciary, and independent research-and-consulting organizations, LWI represents a diverse community that is passionate about effective legal communication.
