LegalQuants is a community and training organization for lawyers who build their own AI systems and legal technology. It finds, vets, trains, and deploys legal quants: lawyers who combine legal expertise with technical skills to create and operate proprietary tools, develop new services, and identify emerging markets. Its admissions process includes LQ Assess, a 90-minute agentic coding exam, followed by the LegalQuants Residency, a four-week program with one-to-one coaching that takes participants from prompting to building.

The organization also supports a broader community through LQBrain, where members can ask questions and access cited answers, and an Intelligence Briefing featuring a weekly digest and analyst time. LegalQuants offers LQAI, open-source legal AI software that can run on users’ own servers under the Apache 2.0 license, alongside hackathons and community events.

For organizations seeking practical expertise, LegalQuants helps clients hire legal quants, provides four-week corporate residencies, and offers consultancy through members who work with lawyers to build functional tools.
