LILT Pescara APS is the provincial association of the Italian League for the Fight Against Cancer (LILT), a public, membership-based organisation headquartered in Rome and overseen by Italy’s Ministry of Health. Established in Pescara in 2008 through the commitment of a volunteer-led board, the association works to promote cancer prevention, health and support for people affected by cancer and their families.

Its activities cover primary, secondary and tertiary prevention. The association encourages healthier lifestyles through tobacco prevention, awareness of environmental and occupational risks, healthy eating and regular physical activity. It also offers medical consultations, including breast and urological visits, as well as psychological counselling. Support and rehabilitation services address physical, psychological, social and occupational needs, including those of patients’ families.

LILT Pescara participates in national and provincial programmes and shares prevention information through events, projects and educational materials, including videos. Volunteers are central to its community work. People can support the association by volunteering or donating, including through Italy’s 5×1000 tax allocation, which helps fund cancer research and prevention.
