The organiation has evolved from an informal group called Legebitra that was founded as a project of the Student Organisation of University of Ljubljana in 1998 and enjoys trust of its target group for over 25 years. We consider our work serious, professional, of quality and most of all devoted to the fields of LGBT human rights advocacy and youth social care services. Our mission is to improve position of and relation to LGBT persons on diverse levels and in diverse fields of life in Slovenia. By ensuring a safe space and through dissemination of relevant and accurate information we aim to educate and raise awareness, while at the same time we also try to draw attention to inequalities in Slovenian society. Our target group are LGBT persons and also other public because this is how we can actively impact the process of social inclusion of LGBT persons into society. Legebitra association is a member of CNVOS network of non-governmental organisations, L’MIT Ljubljana network of info points for youth and international organisations ILGA (International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Organisation), ILGA Europe, IGLYO (International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer Youth and Student Organisation) and TGEU (Transgender Europe). We are also one of the founding members of international informal network Babelnor consisting of LGBT youth non-governmental organisation from the Balkans, Ukraine, Belarus and Nordic countries.

About Legebitra
Legebitra is a brand that offers a range of services and activities to support and empower LGBTIQ+ individuals. They provide psychosocial counseling for LGBTIQ+ people, as well as testing for HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs). In addition, Legebitra organizes youth activities, offers legal advice, and has a certification program called "LGBT-friendly" to promote inclusivity and equality in different workplaces.
