Legends of Nor’Ova is a fantasy role-playing game designed to help players create distinctive characters and become immersed in a shared world of adventure. Players take on the roles of their characters as they explore dungeons and caves, visit towns, face dangers, and seek treasure. The game emphasizes personal character concepts and storytelling rather than concentrating primarily on powerful builds, statistics, or advancement.

The Legends of Nor’Ova website serves as a comprehensive game resource, with guidance on character creation and growth, equipment and goods, gameplay rules, lore, and creatures. It provides the information players and game masters need to prepare and run adventures. The game is intended for groups of at least three people, including a game master who guides the story and manages the game. Play uses character and skill sheets, polyhedral dice, writing materials, and a map or grid for battles. The wiki can also be used with Roll20, where an existing campaign and a custom character sheet are available. Additional virtual tabletops are not currently supported.
