Legio Ostiensis ry

Legio Ostiensis ry, known as Legio, is the subject association for students of specialised legal studies at the University of Eastern Finland in Joensuu. It represents students in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Business Studies’ Law School, including those pursuing bachelor’s and master’s degrees in administrative sciences, postgraduate master’s students and students in international master’s programmes. Open University students and others may also join as supporting members.

Legio supports its members through student events, membership benefits and advocacy on matters affecting their studies and student experience. Its activities include social gatherings, an annual celebration week, sports initiatives through LegioSport, and orientation and tutoring for new students. Members can also access association services, office hours and information about student representation and support contacts.

Legio publishes Manipulus, its member magazine, and maintains a related blog. It also produces Legiocast, its own podcast, and sends the Puluposti newsletter twice a month. The association shares information about its activities, events, membership and student resources through its website and social media.
