Legislation.gov.uk is the official UK legislation website, managed by The National Archives on behalf of HM Government. It provides access to legislation in revised and original “as enacted” versions, covering material dating from 1267 to the present. Publishing UK legislation is part of the remit of His Majesty’s Stationery Office, which is part of The National Archives, and the Office of the King’s Printer for Scotland.

Visitors can search by title, keyword, year, number or legislation type, or browse collections for the United Kingdom, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and legislation originating from the European Union. The site includes many forms of primary and secondary legislation, as well as draft legislation and impact assessments, with accompanying explanatory documents where available. Users can explore newly published legislation, follow free subscription feeds and consult guidance on how legislation works, is numbered, comes into force and is updated. Help resources include a glossary, frequently asked questions and information about editorial practices and revision timescales.
