Leigh Judo is a community judo club and academy welcoming people of different ages, abilities and experience levels. Its purpose is to help members reach their potential through judo, developing confidence, resilience, discipline and respect alongside sporting skills. The club offers Kano Kids sessions for children aged 5–7, introducing judo fundamentals through fun, active training.
Junior classes for ages 7–13 build confidence, discipline, fitness, strength and judo ability, while senior sessions for ages 14 and older welcome both beginners and those seeking to progress. The Judo Academy supports developing judoka with technical, physical and tactical training for competition and performance. Leigh Judo’s story grew from the legacy of the London 2012 Olympic Games into an award-winning community, with opportunities to train, compete, improve fitness or simply belong.
Its purpose-built facilities include two sprung-floor dojos, a strength and conditioning gym, changing rooms and showers, an on-site sports injury clinic, coach and training spaces, secure lockers, a café and parking
