It follows his June 1980 voyage through a mid-Atlantic storm to Bermuda, where a period of discovery inspired new creativity, alongside his artistic collaboration with wife Yoko Ono, who was in New York. Combining excerpts from Lennon’s demo tapes recorded on the island, innovative gameplay and intimate documentary storytelling, the app offers a distinctive experience for music and technology fans.
Created to commemorate the 33rd anniversary of Double Fantasy: A Heart Play, it was released for iPad and iPhone through the App Store. The project received a 2015 Communications Arts Interactive Annual award, with judges praising its emotional impact and engaging experience. All net proceeds from the app benefit WhyHunger and its work toward a world free of hunger and poverty.
