About LEO Foundation
The LEO Foundation is a prominent brand and one of Denmark's largest commercial foundations. As the engaged owner of LEO Pharma, a leading pharmaceutical company specializing in dermatology, their main objective is to ensure the company's long-term development and success. In addition to ownership, the Foundation provides philanthropic grants to support the best international research in skin diseases, with the goal of making Denmark a global beacon for skin research.
Managing financial assets of approximately DKK 16 billion, their investments aim to sustain LEO Pharma's long-term development and provide funds for philanthropic activities. Established in 1984 by Knud E. Abildgaard, who was the owner of LEO Pharma at the time, the Foundation has a rich history.
In 2021, the Foundation welcomed Nordic Capital as a minority shareholder and partner, further strengthening LEO Pharma's position in medical dermatology. Passionate about improving the understanding and treatment of skin diseases, the LEO Foundation is dedicated to paving the way for curing these conditions through engaged ownership, philanthropy, and investments
