Leo Clubs are a part of the youth program of Lions International, aimed at helping young people realize their individual and social potential. The very first Leo Club was established in the United States in 1957 with a focus on developing youth leadership skills. Since then, Leo Clubs have grown significantly, with over 5,500 clubs worldwide and a membership of over 145,000 enthusiastic individuals across more than 130 countries.

In Belgium, the first Leo Club, Leo Club Bruxelles-Nation, was formed in 1973. Today, Belgium has around 30 Leo Clubs divided into four districts: A, B, C, and D, with districts A and B being Dutch-speaking and districts C and D being French-speaking. Each district has its own board to support and encourage the Leo Clubs' activities.

The name Leo is derived from three core qualities each club aspires to: Leadership, Experience, and Opportunity. Leo Clubs are further categorized as Leo Alpha and Leo Omega, catering respectively to youth aged 12 to 18 and 18 to 32.
