Leões de Portugal is a Portuguese social solidarity institution, known as an IPSS, inspired by the values of Sporting Clube de Portugal. For more than 41 years, it has worked to support people in need and promote a more inclusive, fair and compassionate society. Its services span different generations and practical needs.
Older people can access care through its Day Centre and home support service, which have directly assisted more than 150 people. Adults facing difficulties can seek free guidance from the Social Office, including advice in law, social work, accounting, finance and health; the institution reports helping more than 100 people find solutions. For young people, Leões de Portugal awards educational scholarships, a programme established in 1985.
Over 39 years, it has awarded 954 scholarships and more than €600,000 in support. The organisation also offers a senior academy and community initiatives, and invites people to contribute, become members or support its work through donations and other giving programmes
