Leraar in Limburg is a regional education initiative that brings together the teacher-training programmes of UHasselt and Hogeschool PXL, within the Limburg Association AUHL. It supports people who want to become teachers, whether they already hold a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree, a secondary education diploma or relevant work experience. The initiative highlights flexible options, including shortened and tailored pathways, routes that can be combined with employment, and educational master’s programmes. Its offer includes UHasselt’s Master in Primary Education, developed in collaboration with Hogeschool PXL, which focuses on learning methods, educational psychology, school development, leadership and research.

Leraar in Limburg also gathers professional development opportunities for teachers, school leaders and teams, including study days, further training, workshops and postgraduate programmes offered by AUHL and its institutions. Additional support includes induction guidance for beginning teachers, a short course for new teachers and coaching pathways. Through programme information, resources and guidance, the initiative helps prospective and practising educators explore opportunities to develop their teaching skills and careers in Limburg.
