Domaine équestre des Escoumettes is a family-run riding centre in Opoul-Périllos, in France’s Pyrénées-Orientales, near Perpignan. Established in 2007, it welcomes children and adults, from beginners to experienced riders, throughout the year. Set in a natural environment, the centre emphasizes a friendly, personal atmosphere, thoughtful teaching and respect for horses.
Its activities include riding lessons, academic vaulting, TREC training and outdoor rides on ponies or horses through the surrounding garrigue, vineyards and pinewoods. Holiday courses offer opportunities to develop riding skills, enjoy time in the saddle and prepare for federal riding qualifications. The centre also provides horse boarding, with an emphasis on outdoor living and animal welfare.
Beyond regular riding, Domaine des Escoumettes organizes pony birthday celebrations, educational projects and tailored activities for schools and leisure groups. Instruction is led by state-qualified riding instructor Jérémie Guyot and uses varied, practical approaches, including games, trail riding and learning about horses and their environment.
