Les Grottes de Lacave is a visitor attraction in Lacave, France, offering guided exploration of an extensive underground cave system. Discovered in 1905 by scientist and biospeleologist Armand Viré, the caves have welcomed visitors since 1906. Today, guests can begin their journey aboard a complimentary small electric train, which travels 400 metres into the hill, before continuing on foot with a guide. If circumstances beyond the site’s control prevent train access, visitors can reach the caves on foot and follow the same tour.

The guided visit lasts about one hour and 15 minutes and takes visitors along more than a kilometre of developed pathways. Highlights include the Chaos Room, striking crystals, imaginative underground formations, legendary animal displays, and the Hall of Wonders, where fireflies are featured. The caves are part of the largest visitor-accessible route in the Causses du Quercy, a UNESCO Global Geopark.
